Thousand Oaks Shooting Memorial “Wednesday night, November 7 th , there was a shooting within 10 miles of my apartment. 13 dead 22 injured. We went to the memorial Thursday night. Then we got evacuated Thursday night to the zone leaders. Then at 3 in the morning we got evacuated even further away. Then Friday night they just took us up to Oxnard near the mission office. That is where we have been and still are for the time being. We will be here for at least a couple more days." “This last week me and Elder Hiatt were on an exchange and we went to Arby's for dinner. After we ate we were talking to the manager and he said he had to show us something in his car. Then he told us to turn around and to trust him. We thought he was gonna shoot us but then when we turned around he pulled a Spongebob mask on. It was so weird hahaha."

Overcoming challenges....

Los Angeles California Temple Malibu Beach "We get to go to the temple every six months. It was so much fun. So we went through Malibu because on the way back from the temple we drove the PCH (Pacific coast highway) it goes straight through Malibu. " “What has helped me to overcome challenges? One thing that has helped me has been scripture study and prayer. And just toughing it out. If you just don't give yourself any other option then you can do anything. But like I said earlier the scriptures have helped me so much too.” "I went on an exchange with the zone leaders. While me and the zone leader were out tracting we saw a train in some dudes backyard and lots of people working on it. So we went and talked to them and they let us ride it."

Happy Halloween!

Westlake Village Ward Trunk-or Treat party We look good as golfers! "Honestly it still feels like I just got here.  General Conference was crazy good. Lots of revelation. The prophets and modern day revelation are so amazing and what sets our church apart. " "...there are so many blessing we have and the Lord helps us all so much. Especially me. I have definitely felt his love on my mission." "The missionary work here in Cali is good. We are teaching a new person. Her name is Aileen and we are teaching her kids too who are 9 and 6 years old. She is going through kind of a rough patch in life right now. She went through a divorce a few years ago and has some medical issues and the gospel has brought her lots of peace."
