John's baptism and Elder Berry....

John was baptized on September 21st in Moorpark, CA

We had a very busy week last week. It started out on Monday with an MLC with Elder Robbins. So all the mission leaders got together and he gave us council and direction so it was super good. Then Tuesday was P-day and we were so busy doing an activity with our district, shopping, doing laundry, and running around. It was a fun day though. Then on Wednesday we had our zone conference that Elder Robbins lead for us which was super good again. It's always so much fun to get to hear from an apostle. Then after that the week just kept on going with teaching and finding and helping other missionaries out. It's been a very busy last two weeks but it's been fun!

Elder Berry is from Dallas, Texas, and is a super good artist. He is also way easy to get along with and our personalities get together good. He's been in the area longer so he knows it super good too. Then we have been out the same amount of time so we both get to kinda step up and really lead the zone. We don’t have anyone else to look to so it's a good learning opportunity!

The people we are working with are good. We started teaching this guy named George who is from Syria. It is still in the beginnings so we aren't sure where it will go yet but you could pray for him. We are trying to find some more people to teach too. Me and Elder Berry are doing really good. We are working hard and doing all we can to help the zone out!

This week we had one of our friends we are teaching named Addison who committed to be baptized on October 26th. So please keep him in your prayers. He is giving up coffee and has such an awesome heart and desire.

We are only covering one ward here in Santa Barbara. Let me tell ya it's a lot easier to get to know members and keep people straight. Thank goodness I had 6 months when I was covering two ‘cause I needed it to get everyone figured out and straight. But I do love the ward here!

We aren't really allowed to do incentive programs in our mission. But the zone has set a goal to baptize 11 people in the month of October which would be a record for a zone in a month in the mission. So we are really working hard to help the missionaries get people to their baptisms. In the 3 days since we set goals we have already had so many issues and problems so it’s definitely not gonna be easy but we are gonna do all that we can.
