Easter Sunday lesson for Max Stout....

Elder Carter's mom, received a message from Veronica Stout today on East Sunday. Veronica's son Max Stout lives within the California, Ventura mission and both mom's have been hoping that their paths would cross sometime during Laine's mission. That happened today on Easter Sunday. Elder Laine Carter and Max grew up together in Morgan, Utah.

Elder Carter wrote the following:
"That makes me happy that you got some pictures from me and Max. He didn't send me any so if you could send me the ones you got I would really appreciate it! It was so good to get to see him!!! I told him when I got my call that if I was ever in Morro Bay I would reach out to him. Yesterday was the first time I was so I gave him a call and we met up. We caught up with each other and relived some good old days. He is doing really good! He is on the right track now. He doesn't go to church and knows he should but he still believes it. The thing that makes me happy is that after my mission I'll be able to connect a lot more with him. 

It was a little weird to say goodbye to Elder Schoen this last week. I spent almost 5 months with him so we went through a lot together. I will get to see him again in a couple months though so all is well. Me and Elder Rawlings are getting along good. We have been staying pretty busy with office s stuff and teaching lessons. This last week we had 2 more missionaries go home cause of the virus. We are staying on our toes and rolling with the punches. 

And of course president's hair looks good. Now that I've cut it before I can do it pretty good. 

I can't really think of any other funny stories. If you can imagine I torment Elder Rawlings quite a but hahaha you'll have to pray for him. 

We don't have a specific day for Chanel to get baptized anymore. After we had to push her date back she kinda had the wind blown out of her sails so we are working to get her going on the right track again. Please pray for her. Also pray for Jessica. She Is a new lady we are working with who is praying for and answer to lots of questions. She needs prayers too. 


All is going well! I am working hard and gonna finish strong. "

On August 7th, 2018 Laine was set apart as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by President Joey L. Skinner. Bishop James Fawson and the Morgan 5th ward Young Men's President Kurt Bryant were there to support him, as well as both sets of grandparents, siblings, and parents.This was a very special event for our family and we're very proud of Laine.   Laine's grandparents Rondo and Mary Erickson are serving as full-time missionaries in the Utah Layton Mission as an office couple. Our family is very blessed to have these missionaries serve the Lord.

First week in the MTC

A wonderful tender mercy during Elder Carter's first week in the MTC was that the speakers for the devotional on Sunday night were Brother Wayne T. Watson and his wife Luana Watson. President Watson and his wife were Jessica's mission president in the Finland Helsinki Mission. They were released in June of 2017 and Laine attended their homecoming in Orem, Utah and talked to them about how his sister was doing. Our family loves the Watson and Elder Carter reported that it helped him a lot to hear them speak. Elder Carter reported that he is two rooms away from the new missionaries assigned to serve in the Helsinki Finland mission. He talked with them about how cool Finland is and how much he loved meeting their current mission president Ilkka Auara when he visited Finland in June of this year.
