Easter Sunday lesson for Max Stout....

Image
Elder Carter's mom, received a message from Veronica Stout today on East Sunday. Veronica's son Max Stout lives within the California, Ventura mission and both mom's have been hoping that their paths would cross sometime during Laine's mission. That happened today on Easter Sunday. Elder Laine Carter and Max grew up together in Morgan, Utah. Message that Max sent to Paige Gleason about the lesson  Max Stout and Elder Carter practicing social distancing in Califormia Elder Carter wrote the following: "That makes me happy that you got some pictures from me and Max. He didn't send me any so if you could send me the ones you got I would really appreciate it! It was so good to get to see him!!! I told him when I got my call that if I was ever in Morro Bay I would reach out to him. Yesterday was the first time I was so I gave him a call and we met up. We caught up with each other and relived some good old days. He is doing really good! He is on the ri...

Still going into the office, enjoyed General Conference and gave President Nakken a haircut......

From Elder Carter today 4/6/20 "We still do go into the office. We have actually be in there more then we were before. Administrative work is easier to get done now with all of our time. We are working on using social media and stuff like that more too.  That's crazy all the stuff they are having you do at work now. Makes sense with how bad its getting though. I cant wait for life to go back go normal either. Me and President Nakken agreed that we are going to pray and hope that by the time I go home we are back knocking on doors. I really hope so!!!  Conference was super good. President Nelson is definitely inspired. I cut President Nakken's hair again last night. Since his barber shop is closed I'm the next best thing. I love him hahaha!"

Staying isolated in Cali, and my new companion......

We are on self-isolation too so all of our lessons and contacting is done through technology. We don’t interact with anyone, even members. It is so hard but we are making it work  We are still getting some missionary work done. Chanel is getting baptized in a couple weeks so we are working a lot with her. We do have to deal with a lot of the changes though.  Funny story: We had a few extra cars from missionaries going home so we were gonna give them to elders who were on bikes. So one day we got the mission 10 passenger van and drove to the elders apartment and picked them up. We didn’t tell them before though. We just showed up and barged in their door and told them they were coming with us. We picked up 3 different companionships and they were all so confused. So after we had them all in we drove to the mission office and when we got there we were like "elders is there something you want to tell us?" And a few of them got bright red then we started laughing and pu...

Isaac is getting baptized on March 14th so a couple weeks. He is doing super good! We had a lesson with him last night and he is all set. Jerry is still kinda in a limbo. He did come to church yesterday though so we were happy to see him there. Speaking of pit bulls there was one day that I was on an exchange with another elder. We went up to this house and walked through this gate they had so we could get to the door. On our way up to the door we saw about 50 ft away this vicious pit bull was staring us down. But we still knocked on the door and the guy answered really quickly. He came out and was like "yo I have a pit bull" and stood in between us and it. He wasn't interested so we left and right when we closed the gate the dog went nuts. Barking and jumping and looked like it wanted to kill us. The Lord definitely protected us on that one.  I'll give you another story about a lady we found named Chanel. She is a single mom whose granddaughter lives with...
